Rae’s Hopes initiative to improve our children’s health and life skills provides youth with the possibility to live a healthy life. During the summer months and two days a week training throughout the year. Rae’s Hope engages youth in moderate to vigorous physical activity levels sufficient enough to result in healthy outcomes. Youth workout for 2 hours of physical activity including running or walking, muscle-strengthening, and bone-strengthening activities. Each youth is provided with a pedometer to track steps and miles each day. They learn about eating healthy and drinking plenty of water.

Studies show that overweight children and adolescents are at risk for health problems (such as risk factors associated with cardiovascular disease (such as high blood pressure, high cholesterol, and Type 2 diabetes) Studies have also shown that physiological health is the most commonly mentioned benefit of regular physical activity. Benefits of physically active lifestyle are mastery of motor and sport-specific skills that contribute to competence in lifelong physical activities, attaining social and psychological life.

  • Cleaning after themselves, making beds, cooking and respecting others.
  • Setting tables practicing good etiquette skills
  • Outdoor work cutting grass and putting out flowers
  • Group games relationship building ( taking turns)
  • Group talks (Re-evaluate the day)


Participants will be awarded with a certificate of achievement upon completion.
