Grace and Tayla

CONGRATULATIONS TO TAYLA AND GRACE FOR RECEIVING THE DALLAS AFTERSCHOOL ACHIEVERS AWARD     

Dallas AfterSchool Network's Afterschool Achievers had a special event to that recognized the individual accomplishments of students in afterschool time.  Afterschool programs from across the region selected  students to be recognized in one of the following categories:  Academics, Arts, Citizenship & Leadership, Sports, Special Interest.  Honored students received special gifts and the audience was entertained by a variety of student performances.  One graduating high school student received an $8,000 scholarship scholarship sponsored by the Powdermaker Family Foundation.

Grace was recognized for leadership in Rae’s Hope Inc. She is the captain of the Volleyball team. She plays and leads with confidences. She takes ownership in calling her team mates every week making sure they are all ready to play and attend fundraisers.

Tayla was recognized for her outstanding academic achievement. She receives all A’s in school and high scores on the TAKS test. She loves to read always keeping a book . She likes to write, study and ask alot of questions.
