Moving to New Community and Starting a New Life
Saturday
morning when kids are grateful to not have to get up and go to school,
the girls of Rae’s Hope loaded up the vans and started on their journey
to show an act of kindness and helped one of our families move to their
new home. The girls were excited and enthusiastic, about helping one of
their teammates and family transition to their new community. While
loading and unloading the UHAUL truck the girls danced and sang song
never complaining, just glad to be giving back. They moved tables,
chairs, bikes and lamps. They help take beds apart and put them back
together.
When arriving at the new house the girls raked the leaves making sure it
was one of the most respectable houses on the block. After the move
was completed the girls ate pizza and drank soda and talked about how
much fun they had giving back. It was a joyful time to see the smiles
on the girls face and a bigger smile on the family we were serving.
Giving back is what makes being a part of Rae’s Hope so empowering.
