Vice President of the Youth Advisory Board, Tayla, is in the 4th grade. Tayla has been a member of Rae's Hope Inc for 2 years. She is responsible for making phone calls and getting the team organized .Tayla loves to talk and is very inquisitive. She is very funny and enjoys making people laugh. She is an A student and her favorite subjects are math and reading. This past summer Tayla read over 10 books in our Rae's Hope Book Club in less than 2 weeks She is a very good reader.  One of her favorite things to do is  spend time with family, her mom, twin sister Torri and younger sister.

When Tayla isn’t reading she likes to play outside. Tayla loves playing volleyball. It’s her favorite sport. This summer Tayla attended a sports camp. She learned how to play basketball, soccer and kick ball. Tayla also brushed up on her volleyball skills that will help in the up coming season. She also attended a healthy living camp at a local college sponsored by one of Rae's Hope many collaborative partners where she learned about exercise and healthy eating habits.

Tayla is very competitive. One of her favorite competitions is a board game called Connect Four.This is one of the ways her critical thinking skills stay sharp. Her favorite singer is Miley Cyrus and favorite song is Party in the USA. Her favorite movie is Love and Basketball and she enjoys playing on the Wii. One of her best times with Rae’s Hope was attending the circus this year at the American Airlines Center in Dallas. Her favorite part of the show was the clowns .

 Tayla has shown improvement in her social skills, character and sportsmanship. This is why, for the month of September, we shine a Rae’s Hope, Light on Tayla.
